About Me

My name is Mark, and I am a student pursuing my degree in
Information Technology. I
previously studied Electronics Technology and learned about some IT-adjacent
topics, including computer servicing, microcomputer programming, and digital
logic. I have worked for an insurance company since 2006, which has been
primarily on computers, but I have no professional experience in the field of
Information Technology per se. Some of my hobbies include playing guitar and building
guitar amplifiers. I have a passion for building and fixing things. My employer
has generously offered tuition assistance for students seeking degrees in
fields related to insurance. Given my background in electronics and interest in
solving problems combined with my extensive experience working in insurance, I
feel that Information Technology is a natural evolution for my career
development. With technology constantly changing, my employer’s need for
Information Technology professionals is ever-expanding, and I hope to leverage
my education and experience to contribute to the development of technologies
that improve employee and customer experiences. I believe that education and
technology can be powerful catalysts to help improve people’s lives, and I am
excited to embark on this path and explore my potential to contribute to this
growing field of work.
